Meet the team: Joanna Kwon

Tell us about what you do at Afterpay.

I lead the marketing and consumer analytics org at Afterpay. One part of my job focuses on helping Product to improve user experience through launching and testing new and enhanced product features; the other part of my job revolves around empowering Marketing to acquire, engage and retain customers through data insights across all marketing channels.

What does a typical day look like for you?

A typical day for me consists of many zoom calls with partners across various teams and geographic regions, lots of dashboards/spreadsheets and story-telling based on those numbers, and a good deal of check-ins with my team on how they are doing and how their projects are progressing.

What is your favorite part about being part of the Afterpay team and why did you choose Afterpay?

Aside from being able to work with great talents within Analytics and across Marketing/Product/Sales/Engineering, I really enjoy the immense opportunity here at Afterpay as we are in the hyper-growth stage of the company. For me personally, being able to not only build up the foundation but to directly drive strategy and quickly see the business impact is very rewarding and energizing. The company’s growth trajectory is very exciting and being able to support and accelerate that growth through data and insights is even more exciting.

How is it like to work for Afterpay remotely?

I joined Afterpay during COVID and have had a great experience so far thanks to the support of my team and stakeholders during this virtual onboarding period. I enjoy the flexibility of working remotely but definitely look forward to being able to meet my team and coworkers in person one day.
